HISTORIC PROVENANCE
Inspired by the artistry of ancient Egypt, the Table Lamp Hathor evokes a Middle Kingdom relief (ca. 2061–2010 BCE) that once decorated King Nebhepetre Mentuhotep II's mortuary temple and tomb at Deir el-Bahri in western Thebes. Our contemporary reimagining of the original relief, now in The Met collection, celebrates the timeless elegance of Egyptian artisanship.
The Met x Eichholtz introduces the Table Lamp Hathor, drawing from ancient Egyptian artistry.
Inspired by a Middle Kingdom relief (ca. 2061–2010 BCE) of King Nebhepetre Mentuhotep II and the goddess Hathor, our lamp features a sandstone body with a black granite base and a linen-mix shade handcrafted in the Netherlands.
